Looking, before drawing

Photography is often where my drawings begin. I love taking the time to observe an animal, a bird, or a small moment. Before I draw, I look — I photograph the little details, expressions, textures and moments that catch my eye, often long before I know they will become a drawing. These photographs are part of that process: moments that caught my eye, sparked an idea, or eventually became a drawing.
